Our Lady of Clear Creek Abbey
How do you end up at an Abbey in Northeastern Oklahoma? For those that don't know an Abbey is a building or buildings occupied by a community of monks or nuns.
Long story short, my mother works for bridge inspectors and one of her bridges is down the road from the Abbey. So a road trip must ensue!!!
After looking at a their website (yes they have one) finding the times to visit and the map directions (can also find it with GPS but it's out in no man's land and you will most likely lose services) We set up a day to go and off on another adventure we go!
After winding through the back country roads, and avoiding so many turtles. We arrive at the gate!
Some more twist and turns and a sign pointing in to the right direction.
You cross over this amazing bridge (remember my mom's job, we have to stop)
A little more up the road and you are at the Abbey. WOW!!!
You are alowed to walk some of the ground, the gift shop or gate house, and the church, only during visiting hours. We went during the 11:30-12:45 time slot.

We also took a drive over by to where the guest house is. This whole area is just beautiful!!
On our way to the abbey, we passed dragon. Yes!!! So on our way back we, of course, had to stop. The maker of the said dragon was actually there and kind enough to let us walk around his property and take photos (please, always ask, som
e people do not like this!!)
Now for lunch, because what adventure is not complete without food!!!! We stopped at the Pizza Barn. This is located next to Taylors Fary, why we have never stopped her before is beyond me! AMAZING food and AMAZING staff!!!! Also, the price is totally worth it!
Travel on!
