Ghost Town

Lehigh, OK

This is a fun one!! I was needing to do an assignment for my journalist class. So I looked up Ghost Towns in Oklahoma (there are like 100 its crazy) and came across Leigh, OK. Its down in the Atoka / Duncan area. This would be a simple afternoon trip that we could do. Just pack a lunch and head out!

Finding the place was nuts. You get almost inside the city of Atoka on HWY 75 and turn down a side road, go about 2 miles blink and you have passed it! We blinked..... turned around and the little abandoned gas station is the only sign you are there, we turned down the little side road and that's all that's left of the town. A few buildings an old school house, bank, a few homes, and the cemetery ( I found my family name there, still not sure if its actually family or just same last name, totally cool ether way)

We stopped for lunch and drove around to see what else was around the area, Not Much!!! We even ended up on some ones private drive for a little bit before we turned around.
